Begin cleaning a tiled floor by sweeping or vacuuming to eliminate dust and debris. Use a gentle detergent or a tile-safe cleaner diluted with warm water to mop the surface. Never employ harsh chemicals or rough scrubbers that can scratch the surface. For a deeper clean, use a commercial tile cleaner or mix vinegar and water together for a DIY alternative. Mop the floor with the solution and rinse with clean water to prevent residue buildup. If you have Set in stains, a paste made of baking soda and water can be used as a gentle abrasive to scrub the stains away with a soft brush.

Cleaning floor tile grout can be done by mixing together Baking soda and water creating a paste that can be painted on the tiled surfaces and stuffed in the grout lines. Pour or paint it on and it sits for a few minutes, then scrub with an old toothbrush and it should lift off grime. If the stains persist or deeper dirt remains, using hydrogen peroxide with baking soda will break stiff anchored mud. Try not to scrub natural stone tiles as their sensitive makeup erodes and suffers damage from acid cleaners. Finish rinsing the tiles and consider sealing them to reduce stains subsequent staining.

Begin by ensuring that the subfloor is both clean and dry. The next step is to visualize the layout in a manner that is adaptable to balancing, measuring and marking the middle of the room. Apply thin-set mortar with a notched trowel and use a tile lippage system if necessary. Please remember to check if the tiles are level. Wait for the tiles to set for a minimum of 24 hours. After that, grout the tile with joints. With the use of a wet sponge, remove any additional grout that is not necessary and seal the area once cured.

Vinyl tile floors need to be cleaned with care; otherwise, they could be damaged easily. Start with sweeping or vacuuming to ensure that dust and dirt is taken care of. Use a damp mop with dish soap or controlled amounts of a vinyl-safe cleaner in addition to warm water. Don’t use excessive water, as flooding can lead to water seeping into the seams and resulting in lifting. Stubborn stains can be treated with a baking powder-and-water mixture, or even a few drops of vinegar. Avoid using harsh chemicals, wax-based cleaners, or abrasive material for cleaning as they will reduce the shine of the finished vinyl tiles.

It is indeed possible to put a layer of vinyl flooring on top of tile flooring, but the surface must be smooth and considerably leveled. If there are uneven tiles, apply grout lines and a leveling compound will have to be used to make a flat surface. Peel-and-stick modified vinyl tiles can then be placed without any further surface preparation. Luxury vinyl planks (LVP) or glue down vinyl sheets can also be placed directly over the tiles. To enhance proper adhesion, ensure that the surface for installation is clean and devoid of dust. In case of a floating vinyl floor, an underlayment will have to be used for support and cushioning.
